Sustainable cuisine

Regional and seasonal South Tyrolean dishes

At Jora Mountain Dining in San Candido, within the Alta Pusteria area, Alpine and Mediterranean cuisine come together, and are artfully combined by Markus Holzer

Located directly on the slopes of the Monte Baranci skiing area in the Sesto Dolomites during winter, and surrounded by lush meadows during summer, Jora Mountain Dining restaurant welcomes gourmets and lovers of traditional South Tyrolean dishes. The origin of the ingredients we use is highly important to us: as much as possible, we source these from local farmers.
Our down-to-earth and creative cuisine, as well as the cosy atmosphere and warm service, ensure that a stay at Jora Mountain Dining is a truly memorable experience.

Lunchtime –
Jora Hut

When putting together the menus, it is important to us to offer both traditional dishes and our own creations. Both should be presented in a contemporary way. Thus, in addition to classics of South Tyrolean cuisine, such as bacon dumplings in beef stock, a hearty Tyrolean “Marende” (snack) with “Speck” (typical bacon), smoked sausages and local cheeses and the ever popular apple strudel, you will also find unusual plates, such as chestnut tagliolini with stew made from local chamois or a spruce honey parfait with rosehip and chocolate crumble.
In addition to the fixed menu, our guests can choose between changing daily menus, which always include a vegetarian menu, an alpine menu and a gourmet menu.
Our wine selection consists exclusively of wines from the South Tyrolean growing area, remaining true to the spirit of our kitchen. Naturally, we also prefer to offer wines derived from organic and biodynamic farming practices, and from fungus-resistant (PIWI) grape varieties.

Dinner – Jora Mountain Dining

Special highlights include our evening Jora Mountain Dining events, when we treat our guests to unforgettable culinary experiences. On Saturdays, our “Mountain Dining” gourmet evenings take place, during which creative and regional menus consisting of 4 to 6 courses are served. Pasta fans should not miss our “Pasta on the Rocks” evenings on Thursdays – a true homage to the love of pasta. Markus Holzer will delight you with his ingenious pasta creations, before rounding off the evening with a buffet featuring various desserts. Wines from South Tyrol – mainly from small wineries in the surrounding areas – are served as accompaniment.
To make it easier for our guests to reach the restaurant, we offer a shuttle service from the car park of the Baranci chairlift to the hut on the theme evenings.
